Carroll County, TN Deed Grantor: E.T. Burnes Bk O, Pg. 276 Grantee: Edward Gwinn Date: 18 Jan 1861 I, E.T. Burnes have this day sold and do now convey unto Edward Gwinn of the county of Carroll to have his heirs and assigns forever for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged a certain tract or parcel of land situated in the County and state aforesaid it being a part of the tract I now live on and bounded as follows (to wit, Begining on a stake with poplar and black oak pointers Joseph Coopers N.E. corner on McDonalds west line and runs west with Coopers line 29 poles to a small Elm 2 post oak and Dogwood pointers, Thence north 138 poles to a stake in an old field on Simpson Garretts South line. Thence east to said Garretts S. E. corner to a stake with hickory pointers on John W. Whites West line. Thence South 138 poles to the begining containing in all 125 acres. I the said Burns do covenant with the said Gwinn first that I am lawfully seized of said land and bargain and promise second ly that I have a good right to sell and thirdly that the same is unincumbered and that I will forever warrant and defend, the title of the same to the said Gwinn his heirs and assigns forever against myself my heirs and against the legal claim or claims of of all and every person or per sons, whatever. Graves Carroll County Clerk of the County Court of said County W. M. Gwinn and W. S. Moore witness subscribed who being first duly sworn deposed and say they are well acquainted with E. T. Burnes the grantor who acknowledged to them that he signed the foregoing Deed for the purpose therein contained and on the day it bears date, as Witness my hand at the Clerks office this the 25th day of February 1861.
